We can put a pool anywhere!

We’ve been in the pool business for more than 30 years and in that time we’ve installed pools in all kinds of places.

Rooftops, extremely tight urban backyards, sloping sites, indoors – wherever you want to put your pool, we’ve done it before.

Installing pools in Wellington, we’ve gotten accustomed to the challenging terrain that sometimes makes it difficult to put a pool in.

Whether you’ve got a steep slope, a small footprint or groundwater issues (common at coastal sites), we’ve got the experience and products to handle it.

Compass pools have a range of shell types which allow them to be installed almost anywhere, such as the maxi rib technology for above or semi above ground pools.

Preparing for your pool installation

We can help every step of the way to assist in choosing the right shape, colour and size. We have installed numerous pools and have many satisfied customers, some of whom are happy to share their experiences and site visits can be arranged.

It’s incredibly exciting, the anticipation of that first dip in your very own pool, but there’s some important groundwork that needs to be done first.

Although we generally have one or two popular pool shells in stock, most frequently we need to order from the Compass Pools manufacturing site in Australia. Dependent upon factory demand and shipping times, this means it can be a month or longer before your pool arrives. Thus the sooner you can confirm things, the sooner your pool install can commence.

Before any work begins, your local council will need to issue a consent. We lodge this on your behalf once you have confirmed all the details. Often it’s straightforward, but sometimes this process can be complicated by a sloping site, needing retaining walls, or requiring a specialist engineering report. Some councils take longer than others but regardless it always takes time and until we have this, we cannot commence an install.

Allow yourself plenty of time to get this planning and preparation stage in order. If you want to get your pool in for summer, you need to start planning months before this to make sure it’s in on time.

Once that is sorted, we slot you into our installation timeline.

Delivery

Wright Pools & Spas have the expertise and experience to deliver and install pools on the trickiest of sites.

Before delivery, a plan is developed for coordinating excavation of the ground and transportation of the pool shell. Pools are big – we have to consider how and when we do this to enable the least disruption to traffic, getting it as close to the hole as possible and navigating/managing any obstacles such as power poles, vegetation, and buildings. We usually use a hiab or crane to lift your pool off the truck and drop it into the installation site. Sometimes we’ll have to use a helicopter for especially tricky spots.

How long does pool installation take?

One of the great things about Compass fibreglass pools is that they’re much faster to install than concrete pools.

Concrete pools can take up to 8 weeks to install, but Compass pools are usually installed and filled with water in one to two days. We’ll be on site for several more days afterwards to complete the process before handing over to landscapers.

Why choose Wright Pools & Spas?

We’re fully transparent with our pricing and our detailed quote is the price you pay – we don’t tack on any extra costs for routine things. For example, no additional freight costs, no hiab costs or extra visit costs. Excavation varies enormously between sites but you pay the contractor directly with no mark up by us.

With Wright Pools & Spas, we don’t just drop your pool in and leave the rest to you.

We get it fully operational so you can use it pretty much straight away.

We also personally handover the pool to you, including showing you how to maintain it alongside educational leaflets and videos.

Our fantastic customer service continues well after we get you up and running – we offer an ongoing support service so we can quickly sort out any problems and help you look after your pool including a regular valet service.

Plus, you can always come and see us and ask for advice on any matter relating to your pool or the water!

Some pool companies are faceless and don’t have physical stores – they operate from a warehouse or even just the owners house and you can only contact them via a mobile phone number.
We have actual brick and mortar shops and we’re always here to provide you with support for as long as you need it.
